Mercy Urgent Care is offering molecular COVID 19 testing in Asheville, NC. They are currently Open for new patients. You can call or visit them anytime Mon.-Fri.: 9am-4pm Sat. & Sun.: 10am-4pm. Upon arrival, please remain in your vehicle and call your Mercy Urgent Care location for instructions. The test is performed through a nasopharyngeal swab inserted deep into the nose. The swab is then sent to a lab, where it is tested for the presence of the virus (not antibodies). Providers will also consider and test for other causes of respiratory illness, such as influenza.
